Role
As a Tax Preparer, you’ll serve as a trusted expert for our individual and small business clients, delivering accurate, strategic, and empathetic tax guidance.
You’ll work closely with our team of Enrolled Agents, bookkeepers, and tax support staff to ensure every client’s experience is seamless from start to finish.
If you’re detail-oriented, confident in tax law, and passionate about helping clients achieve peace of mind through financial clarity — this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual (Form 1040) and small business (1120, 1120S, 1065) tax returns.
- Conduct thorough client interviews to gather relevant data and identify tax-saving opportunities.
- Communicate proactively with clients to clarify information and ensure accuracy.
- Research complex tax issues and provide well-supported recommendations.
- Collaborate with bookkeeping.
- Maintain organized, compliant workpapers and documentation.
- Contribute to improving workflows, client experience, and team communication.
Requirements
- College degree mandatory, 3+ years of experience preparing individual and business tax returns preferred
- EA or CPA preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal and Colorado tax law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, client-centered tone.
- Comfortable working with Drake, CRM software, and Microsoft Office.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple client files efficiently.
- Self-directed, dependable, and motivated to deliver high-quality work under deadlines.
